JTR Racing, New to Baja, Veterans to Racing

JTR is no stranger to the world of motorsports. Located in Oregon, JTR has been involved with 4-wheel drive sand drag racing, asphalt drag racing, class 3 off-road racing, and championship winning late model dirt track cars. The one constant has been focus, determination and bringing value to sponsors. Since incorporation in 1999, every year has been profitable for JTR.

The decision to get involved with the most difficult off-road race in the world was not an easy one. JTR understands the challenges of Baja and the obstacles to build a vehicle that can compete. Winning is a small part of the Baja equation. The bigger part is finishing. This year's course is estimated to be around 1,250 miles: the equivalent of driving from Seattle, Washington to San Diego, California on Interstate 5. However, instead of smooth asphalt and clearly marked road signs, Baja will be 1,250 miles of graded dirt roads, asphalt crossings, a loose technical rocky ascents and decents...oh yeah and silt beds. Picture a football field covered with 3 feet of powdered sugar. The silt beds are fine, fine, powdered desert sand that will stop you dead if you slow down. The route will allow around 45 hours to complete. The clock does not stop for breaking down, flat tires, getting lost, or any other of 1,000 things that can go wrong. The clock just keeps ticking away. JTR looks forward to the race with anxious anticipation to once again be a proving ground for a dedicated passionate team of race enthusiasts that can, and will, conquer the Baja 1000.
